Composed 3 scalars volumes into a vector volume

Hi,

I'm using VHTK for my thesis project. I mainly program in x3d and python. I have three separate volumes of data of the the same physical object. I want to combine these scalar volumes into one vector volume. I'm a complete novice and don't know which node in VHTK would help. I've read through the doxygen document online but I could not find any node that would help (and I might have missed something). Is there a trick that I can use?

Is it possible to just append those scalars (from each of the three volumes) voxel by voxel (using for loops in python) into a 3 by 1 array and the render it using appropriate color function?

That does not sounds like a very clever approach. Is there any trick I can apply?

Any help will be very very much appreciated. Thank you.

There is actually a data node specially designed for this task, however it has not been thoroughly tested. It's the ComposedScalarVolume which at the moment only supports sum of values.

If your data are not exactly the same resolution, size and position, then I recommend that you pre-process the data in for example InsightToolkit (ITK) to make it one volume to use in VHTK.
