Did you compile your H3DLoad version against the H3DAPI_vc8-version?

Why would you renamed H3DApi_vc8.dll to H3DApi.dll? There is no need for that.

Hello everyone,

Need help here about installing VHTK. it seems that I got the same error with DuGNU and tissa while trying to load setup_dicholoroethane.x3d. I installed the H3D 2.0beta api using the windows installer and compiled the VHTK 1.7 using vc7. This has been done in regards that the dynamic library produced by the installer appears as h3dapi_vc7.dll
I also managed to change the setup file import library section to
ImportLibrary library="bin/VHTK_vc7.dll"

As i thought i need to get the same compiler as what the installer uses, is the problem comes from the uncompatibility of VHTK with vc7? or do i really need to recompile the H3D and VHTK using vc8?

Thank you
Kind regards

I tried to compile VHTK 1.7 with H3DAPI 2.0 (not the beta, but the 2.0 release). I have also tested to compile it against trunk. It should work fine.

Either you use vc7 to compiled VHTK against H3DAPI since H3DAPI is compiled with vc7, or you recompile H3DAPI using your compiler. Or you try to compile VHTK using H3DAPI 2.0 release since it comes with libraries built with visual studio 8 and 9 and you should be able to compile VHTK against any of them without modifying the source code. H3DAPI 2.0 is compiled agaisnt some static libraries so if you get linker errors when compiling VHTK against the correct version of H3DAPI for your compiler then you might have to change project settings so that VHTK is also compiled against static versions of these libraries.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. it is installed and worked fine now. However, it leaves me with warning message

"Warning: SpaceWareSensor error. Node will be unusable.
CouldNotInitSpaceWare: Probably the driver is not installed."

im wondering if i could get h3d to not look for the SpaceWare device as im using Phantom. it doesn't seem to be specified within the setup file (i used setup_dichloroethane2.x3d). any ideas?

Kind regards

It is probably so that somewhere in the scene you load there is an instance of SpaceWareSensor started. Or you have selected (somehow) to use a SpaceWareSensor to navigate in the scene. In that case the SpaceWareSensor will try to start. So locate where the node is started and remove it and the warning message wiill disappear.

Do not forget to check python files loaded by the scene.

I am using H3DAPI 2.1.0 win 32 installer for install H3D on C:/H3D.
I am using VHTK 1.9.0 with CMake 2.8.1 and vc 8 for VHTK installation.
For CMake source file is C:/VHTK/build and bin is C:/VHTK/build/vc8.
I had BUILD INSTALL the VHTK solution file for installing libraries.

Environment variables
VHTK_ROOT C:\VHTK
H3D_EXTERNAL_ROOT C:\H3D\External
H3D_PYTHON_ROOT C:\Python24\
H3D_ROOT C:\H3D\H3DAPI

But I get the following problem when I try to run the example x3d file.

Hi,

that just means H3DLoad/H3DViewer cannot find VHTK library. Firstly, I think you should make sure of the followings:

1. Have you run Install to install the .dll library?

2. if you have and the example still doesn't work, then just find where your library is and insert it where the AutoSOload in the .x3d code. For example:
<ImportLibrary library='J:VHTKbinVHTK_vc9.dll' />

3. You need to check the directory of the python files as well but I can't remember what was the problem with them.

I hope that would help,

trang

1. Yes, I installed the .dll.
2. I have try adding

to x3d example, but I got same warnings.
3. I am not sure what you want me to do with python files.

Thanks for reply.
