a 2-D box pushing paradigm Hi guys,
I need a simple 2-D box pushing paradigm for a research experiment and am willing to pay for it. I have been working on it and it's half done. I have issues with it and I'm in rush to make it work. Kindly, is there anyone interested to cooperate with me? Thanks in advance. Regards, |

Re: a 2-D box pushing paradigm Yes, I actually figured it out. Thank you for asking.
However, I have an issue that you may kindly be able to help me. Sometime during the session while pushing boxes, one box get stuck and is not movable despite the fact that after each pushing trial, I reset mass, velocity, ... to a normal movable box. In the debug mode I get the error message: "device maximum velocity exceeded". Would you please advise? |

Re: a 2-D box pushing paradigm The "device maximum velocity exceeded" is a SensAble (I assume you use a phantom) warning that is outputted if you move the device to fast.
I assume the box functions as normal until a certain point, when it suddenly no longer functions? Could you check with H3DViewer if the box geometrys "force" field updates even when it gets "stuck"? If it does then at least there if force acting on it. If you would switch the box setup for an entirely new instance of DynamicTransform (using python) will that DynamicTransform work? |

Re: a 2-D box pushing paradigm Hi,
Not sure if this would be of any help, but there is an open source library available at http://www.ict.csiro.au/downloads.php, called H3DNetworkingUtils, that has dynamic objects that can be haptically pushed in 3 Dimensions, but can also be limited to 1 or 2D movement. They can also be restricted by springs etc. The library has other nodes that deal with connecting scenes across a network, but the dynamic stuff doesn't need them. See examples/DynamicTest.x3d on how to use it. |
