Novint falcon issue with device initialisation As soon as i open *.exe after building the C++ source code in Visual Studio 2005, Falcon device is getting a force from nowhere and the arm stretches to the maximum. The device goes bad after that. I am experiencing this from the past 3 days but unable to fix.
Has anyone faced the same problem before OR does anyone have a solution for this? |

Re: Novint falcon issue with device initialisation Hi,
Which executable are you referring to? Are you using the libnifalcon drivers or the official HDAL ones? I sometimes get a similar effect when I use the libnifalcon drivers, but it works OK using the official drivers. It could also be a hardware problem. Have you tried using the Falcon Test application (C:\Program Files (x86)\Novint\Falcon\TestUtilities\FalconTest\FalconText.exe). Thanks, Neil |

Re: Novint falcon issue with device initialisation Hi, Thanks for your reply. I was actually referring to the Application file that gets created once the source code is built. I'm pretty sure it's not the problem with the hardware because every device is acting the same. I had faced this problem earlier too. But the fix then was bizarre. I just commented out some statements in the code and uncommented them & it started working all fine. Yes, i use the falcon test application. But once the device goes bad, i have to restart it and test again. |

Re: Novint falcon issue with device initialisation Hi,
Without more specific details I don't think we can help. Can you detail precisely the simplest set of steps required to reproduce the problem? For example, can you reproduce the problem using H3DViewer and one of the standard H3D examples? Thanks, Neil |
